reading on the earth

Happy Earth Day!

This image was taken inside at the end of Earth Day because it was too beautiful to be inside today.

I love the earth, we all came from her and we need to remember to give back to her.

This past year of working and trying to be outside more than I have ever been in my life has been amazing. I truly appreciate the earth and every moment I have to spend on it.

My year of reckoning has brought me to the conclusion that the general public (in my perspective, in the U.S.) spends way too much time indoors. I believe that the minimal amount of activity spent outside has led to such high rates of mental illness and an overall lower quality of life. Your body and your mind know what you need to prosper in this body the earth has gifted you. When it’s a nice day out and you stare out the window, daydreaming, wishing you could be outside…I believe that’s your mind knowing where your body should be. Not inside staring at a computer. I think the sun, fresh air, and outdoor activity are the best medicine.

(These are overall generalizations as well.)

But, as I’ve said, that’s my belief. I’m sure there are those who disagree with me.

Until next time…Read and stay active.
