Thank You For My Service by Mat Best – Book Review

Former Army Ranger, private military contractor, social media phenomenon, and one of the owners of Black Rifle Coffee Company. Mat Best presents hilarity with a sprinkling of seriousness in this veteran memoir.

Making great things that make a lot of people happy and helping veterans and their families in the process – that is genuine purpose.

Mat Best

Hilarious, honest, and just gruesome enough at all the right parts. Best doesn’t sugarcoat in his ludicrously hilarity and brutal honesty when it comes to war. Be warned, the humor in this memoir is definitely not for all.

Best is obviously a hardworker and just the kind of person to spark entrepreneurial inspiration in me (which, for me, has previously been ignited by The Third Door by Alex Banayan and Do Cool shit by Miki Agrawal). I absolutely loved the humor (and was actually loling, which i don’t normally do with books) although I know this kind of humor isn’t for all – so def NSFW or instagram.

Thank you to Mat Best for sharing your experiences and humor, and for showing me how some (if not, most?) vets do well when returning to civilian life. – Which does not mean I’m not aware of those who have not made it back or have harrowing PTSD or other mental issues upon return. My gratitude is shown to them every time I exercise my rights and who I think of on every American holiday. These are the people I celebrate.

I am also so appreciative of Jarred Taylor and Evan Hafer because I love Black Rifle Coffee, and I’m sure some of their insta videos are shot with the help of Jarred.

Read on and, if you can, try some of that Black Rifle Coffee because it’s delicious (not a paid ad but I’d love to if they’re willing).
