Before the Coffee Gets Cold: Tales from the Cafe by Toshikazu Kawaguchi

**Contains spoilers for Before the Coffee Gets Cold
Talk has gone around that there’s a special cafe near the Jimbocho Station in central Tokyo. A cafe where you can drink a cup of coffee and travel back in time, but only travel back to the cafe.
I enjoyed this beautiful, calm, sad sequel to one of my favorite books that I read last year.
Normally writing longer reviews, I feel strange to just leave it at that. But I’m going to do something different with this post and leave it with the one sentence review. I also feel strange posting about books that I read so long ago. I have a couple qualms about this. I didn’t read it recently and if I’m not thinking about it a lot, then I feel like it’s an inaccurate review. I also think that since I worked on said review however long ago (in this case, it’s been about 4 months), I might not be the same writer I was then.
However, I do feel that since I worked on the review, I should still publish it. This kind of situation can remind me that I should publish something I’ve worked on if those are my intentions and that I should edit my writing, even months later. (Even though I didn’t tonight. I just added these reflections tonight.)
Read on.
