Last night I decided to start writing for at least for a minute a day.
It doesn’t matter what I write about, I just want to put myself into the habit of writing every day and more often. And in some time, what I’m assuming will be a short amount of time, I’ll increase my daily goal.
I’ve been wanting to start writing more often for a little while now, and this feels like the perfect goal to get me started. Surprisingly, I found inspiration for this specific goal from the nonfiction book that I’m reading during the day, Hyperfocus by Chris Bailey.
In one of the chapters I read last night, Bailey discussed intentions. “Setting more specific intentions, however, does something remarkable: it makes our odds of success much higher.”
Now, I’ve had the intention of writing more for quite some time now. But with the specific intention of writing at least a minute a day, I’ll go about that intention more often, especially since I’ve set the goal at a very low time constraint.
And according to my goal and discussing my goal on here, I’ve accomplished my goal…and then some.
Writing every day doesn’t mean I’ll be posting every day. But I do believe it’s going to improve my writing exponentially. And maybe even increase my posting if I have any genius ideas. Kidding (mostly)… I rarely have genius ideas.
So here’s to writing more. (And reading, always.)
