I am currently reading Zen Wrapped in Karma Dipped in Chocolate by Brad Warner, hence the crazy musing below.
As we travel through this life, we all must first and always be working on ourselves. Constant self criticism is crucial to improvement.
If we get too comfortable, I wonder, do we get lazy? Or are we able to be comfortable while practicing self reflection and improvement?
(Does this even make sense? Internally laughing and rolling my eyes at myself.)
The next books I’m looking to read to continue pondering on self improvement and philosophy
🤍Dogen Zenji Goruku: Sayings of Zen Master Dogen
🤍The Practicing Stoic by Ward Farnsworth
🤍The Socratic Method: A Practitioner’s Handbook by Ward Farnsworth
🤍Don’t be a Jerk and Other Practical Advice from Dogen, Japan’s Greatest Zen Master by Brad Warner
Those that have been on my #tbr the longest
🖤Republic by Plato
🖤Bhagavad Gita by Vyasa
🖤Meditations by Marcus Aurelius
Read on, and think on.
