april reading 2023

📚April Wrap-up📚

“People don’t understand how powerful, especially when you’re working on a business, reading can be.”

Andy Frisella

What made me think the most:

  • Zen Wrapped in Karma Dipped in Chocolate by Brad Warner
  • Atonement by Ian McEwan
  • Seoulmates by Jen Frederick

Also Read:

  • The Oath by Frank E. Peretti
  • The Amityville Horror by Jay Anson
  • Saving the Season: A Cook’s Guide to Home Canning, Pickling, and Preserving by Kevin West
  • Squirrel Seeks Chipmunk by David Sedaris
  • Ace of Spades by Faridah Abike-Iyimide

I got a free trial for Audible and thought why not, here’s a way to try audiobooks while being cheap (because I am). This free trial basically affirmed my belief that I’d treat audiobooks as I treat podcasts – with some love but not enough appreciation. I would listen for a few minutes, and then either start or continue whatever I was doing. I’d half pay attention or the audiobook would become white noise for a few minutes and I’d pull my attention back to the book and have no idea what was going on. Especially with Jordan Peterson’s book, that one was really hard for me to follow.

Audiobooks tried for the first time:

  • Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity by Peter Attia MD
  • 12 Rules of Life: An Antidote to Chaos by Jordan B. Peterson
  • Extreme Ownership: How US Navy SEALs Lead and Win by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin

I am currently reading the following:

  • Forbidden Lessons in a Kabul Guesthouse by Suraya Sadeed
  • Devil’s Day by Andrew Michael Hurley

Read on and have a wonderful last day of April. Start May off kicking ass.
