The Nine Lives of Pakistan – DNF with Quick Thoughts

I appreciate Walsh’s form of storytelling and his discussion of the state of Pakistan. I felt that this would be more appreciated by Walsh’s longtime readers and those who have a greater understanding of Pakistan’s history.
I may revisit this when I’ve studied Pakistan more in depth.
The most notable things (to me) that I caught before deciding to DNF:
- “The first notable jihad, or war of resistance, occurred in 1831 in Balakot, a town in the lush Himalayan foothills.”
- “In the second half of the nineteenth century, jihad became the frame for resistance to British colonial rule in northern India.”
