As I think more about this, I get more and more aggravated.

This is obviously where the feelings culture and tolerance have affected books, the author community, and this online book recommendation community. And honestly, that’s all bullshit (to say the least). Not only does that promote dishonesty, but it also allows bad work to be published and little to no growth for the author/producer/artist (whatever you want to call the individual publishing or producing anything). And I’m not supporting that any longer.
This is not to say I believe people should be cruel or nasty to one another. But let’s be honest, people can be cruel, nasty, they bully, and even worse. But it means that the author should have a backbone if they’re going to publish art publicly. If someone tagging an author in a review where they said that they didn’t like the author’s work is the thing that ruins an author’s day, I’d say that’s 1) a pretty good life and 2) that author has no idea how horrible life can actually be.
And here’s some food for thought – do you really care if some critical keyboard warriors didn’t like your book? Are you picking things to be upset about? Or are your impulse control and emotional health that weak that you can’t keep yourself from opening messages or handle the things online critics may say?
Here’s my point: it’s not a big deal if a reviewer tags the author in their review and the author has the power to control their own reactions. Just like with everything else in life.
Get stronger and don’t hold onto everything.
