Beaches are nice and it’s a gorgeous luxury to be able to go. But mountains are where my heart is.

The mountains are so peaceful for me. It’s the most universal terrain for all species that can survive. They bring humans down to more of an equal position with the other animals residing in the area.

They hold so much opportunity, so much potential, and any number of possibilities. You could have the best day in the mountains, you could have the worst day of your life up there; the mountains hold so much versatility.

The mountains strengthen people, push people past what they’d believed were their breaking points, and create a special durability and set of skills that people would otherwise not have had they not been in the mountains.

As the saying goes, hard times create hard men. My new element to this adage is that mountains create hard men. Mountains are always hard.
