Christmas 2023 Nostalgia

I finished my Christmas Day off beginning with a nostalgic read of Harry Potter.

Harry Potter is entwined with so many holiday memories for me. My siblings and I shared the books and movies and we received them as presents for a few Christmases. It was always wonderful to watch and/or read our new presents on and off for the rest of Christmas Day. 

And when I was in high school, I always reread the Harry Potter series over my school’s winter break. It was a wonderful reminder that there was always a space and time for pleasure reading when I could find it, even during my busy days of school. I had lost that knowledge during college and happily regained my love of reading in grad school. And here I am, a few years later, rereading Harry Potter. Reading the same story while I’m in a completely different walk of life. But still enjoying it all the same.
