the second deadly sin by Asa Larsson

“A murderer has taken his own life.”

The Second Deadly Sin by Asa Larsson

A bear killed by a hunter in the woods of Sweden starts a murder investigation as remnants of a human body are found inside of the bear.

A slow start at first, this Swedish murder mystery pulled me in with its short chapters and mysterious killer. Finding out who the killer at the end was *chef’s kiss*

I really appreciated Larsson’s storytelling – the plotline was so intricate and detailed, not a thing was missed. I had difficulty pronouncing most of the names, but I think that enhanced the experience of reading a Scandinavian book.

The first chapter seemed a bit random at first and as I read the next couple chapters, the first one irked me. I was like “What the hell does this have to do with the first 10 pages?” – but I stuck in there and it finally clicked around ⅔ or ¾ of the way through. If you read this and it seems like a slow start with a random first chapter, stick with it and I swear it gets so good.

For now, read on and find those hidden gems.
