My blue current read for multiple reasons…

Because it’s apparently the Bluest Monday of the year.
But if you’ve read this far into this post, beat that shit. Go outside. Read. Don’t let these posts that are saying it’s the most depressive day of the year actually let it be that. Fight it.
I see all the time that the “book community” on ig is welcoming. I hold the belief that it may not be as welcoming if people read certain books or authors.
Fuck that. Read whatever you want. Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks. Enjoy your own reading life. Post about it.
I’m beyond tired and aggravated with people saying others should not read what they themselves deem as “problematic” authors and/or books. While that in itself is manipulative and controlling, it’s asking for those readers to 1) feel shame about what they enjoy to read 2) not be honest about what they’re reading (if that’s what their blog/account is for) and therefore be inauthentic 3) possibly put a divide between friends 4) increase the animosity towards people with differing beliefs and 5) feed into the victim narrative.

Both of these reasons are why I have included Marissa Hardy’s book in this post (slide 2). First, the hummingbird is blue so that gave me an excuse to include it. Second and most importantly, Marissa’s book is about how she changed her victim mindset into a fighter’s. Marissa’s book is exactly what we need to see more of in the Western society.
