Balanced and Barefoot by Angela Hanscom

A printed copy of how I’m generally trying to raise my children. Nature is the best place for them to be and I will always encourage them to be outside.

I don’t entirely agree with or had some scenarios in mind that the author presented. My disagreeing thoughts in no apparent order…
1. babies being in grass will run their hands through it. No, they’ll definitely pull it and put it in their mouths. I think they need to be watched more closely outside.
2. Babies are still stimulated from natural environments even when they’re being worn. While it’s lovely to say or imagine that carrying your little one everywhere outdoors is ideal, it’s just not logistical for most scenarios.
3. Teenagers only  eed 3-4 hours of active play. Obviously depending on personality and energy level, I believe they need more.

Aside from those things, I love this logic and it puts into words what my husband and I are striving for with our babies.
