fuck ai, buy old books

Saving more books than ever for my family…

Seeing the news about AI companied buying and destroying books has ignited the fire in me even more to grow my family’s library and sell more books.

I will not allow anyone to take the power of knowledge and self sufficiency away from my children.

We need to save these books.

  1. I’m right there with you. And for me, it’s really not AI that drives my motivation. It’s the book industry that promotes nothing but social justice books. I love literature that breaks rules, not authors who placate gatekeepers just to get the endorsement of the establishment. And modern books, to me, are mostly crap. A.I., yes, amplifies the odds of experiencing the technological solutions for creativity in the modern world, versus reading about a world apart from any world that has ever existed because some human with a strong grasp of grammar and a vivid imagination decided to share his or her inner thoughts with us in the form of a book.
Personally, I’ve discovered and rediscovered classic authors and books that were written at a time when the publishing industry stayed out of the business of shaping literature into the mold of social consciousness and allowed authors to be bold and inventive and interesting.
If you wanna read literature that regurgitates your social media feeds, find titles that the big five are peddling. If you want to read literature that pushes those boundaries, either buy classics or start finding self-published authors who are writing quality content that readers are supporting enthusiastically.

    1. I agree with you! I cannot tell you how many books published from mid 2000s on that I have put down. And that was one of the reasons why i started my bookstore- to find older books that wouldn’t have as much bs in them.
